<description>Mar 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Yehoshua came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
Mar 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel
Gospel G2098 ???????????? euaggelion yoo-ang-ghel&#039;-ee-on
From the same as G2097; a good message, that is, the gospel: - gospel.
Preaching the Gospel G2097 ???????????? euaggelizo?
yoo-ang-ghel-id&#039;-zo
From G2095 and G32; to announce good news (“evangelize”) especially the gospel: - declare, bring (declare, show) glad (good) tidings, preach (the gospel).

So, we see from the Koine Greek definition that the word means “Good news”. Someone who is oppressed surely could be relieved with some good news. Good news would be something that is desired; and a harder way to go is not what we desire.
Hag 2:7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. 8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.
9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.
What is the desire of all nations? Is it Rule of Law? Jesus? The church? What does Rome want? What does America want? What does Persia want? What do YOU want? [ . . . Just leave me alone!]
Is the desire of all nations LIBERTY? Who doesn’t want to be free? What glory is it if Christians are under the same, or greater bondage as everyone else?

Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
?Liberty G1657 ??????????? eleutheria el-yoo-ther-ee&#039;-ah
From G1658; freedom (legitimate or licentious, chiefly moral or ceremonial): - liberty.
Free G1658 ??????????? eleutheros el-yoo&#039;-ther-os
Probably from the alternate of G2064; unrestrained (to go at pleasure), that is, (as a citizen) not a slave (whether freeborn or manumitted), or (generally) exempt (from obligation or liability): - free (man, woman), at liberty.
OK, but what about:
Mat 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Mat 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Mat 5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
. . . And there are other scriptures like it.
Yehoshua said repentG3340 and believe the Gospel. He said, “It’s time to think differently” It’s not “Good News” to find out that the law is even harder on us that we thought, so plucking your eyes out is not the Gospel. It is the new way of thinking about sin; that sin is in the heart, and not just in the act.
Repent G3340 metanoeo? met-an-o-eh&#039;-o
From G3326 and G3539; to think differently or afterwards, that is, reconsider (morally to feel compunction): - repent.
You can’t fix it yourself, so then He said,
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Is it rest to take on the burden of claiming that the Holy Spirit enables you to avoid sin, but you find yourself to be the same sinner that you were before you trusted Christ? Is it easy to walk the straight and narrow way (live without sin)? Is it an easy yoke to think that you’re not really a christian if you still want sex? Is it a light burden not to allow yourself to have a good time? Is it liberty to pay the tithe instead of the electric bill?
The scriptures that seem to put a burden on us should be interpreted in the context of the Gospel (the Glad Tidings). When you see injunctive scriptures like
1Co 11:4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
1Co 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head:
Consider that it may be a dialog to contrast bondage to liberty. Check out the injunctive scriptures of the Gospel, and see if that fits.
Check what I’m saying in the Word of God, and see if it’s the truth. If it’s not, I need correction.
The Gospel is:
Salvation is by grace through faith, and it makes you free. Your eternal life is maintained by the finished work of the Lamb of God. Now THAT’s good news!
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Luk 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father&#039;s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
The Gospel is about the glory of Yehoshua, the Lamb of God, and the propitiation of sin. Sin was the problem, and He is the answer. The Gospel is not about something else.
Yehoshua didn’t come to show us the way; he IS the way.
1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiationG2434 for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Propitiation G2434 ????????? hilasmos hil-as-mos&#039;
atonement, that is, (concretely) an expiator: - propitiation.
The Lamb of God is worthy because he was slain.
Rev 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
So then, being saved by grace, and not works, what’s to keep us from trespassing against each other?
Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Joh 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
1Jn 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
1Jn 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
