Derwin Gray fits that category. A former linebacker with the Carolina Panthers, Derwin spent six years in the NFL  and garnered two pro bowl nominations.

For the last nine years, Derwin has been known as the “Evangelism Linebacker”, communicating the gospel of grace around the world with intense passion that is both contagious and inspiring.

 He is founder of One Heart at a Time Ministries  and pastor of preaching at “The Gathering” , a multi-ethnic, intergenerational church in Charlotte, NC.

Derwin is a 2004 graduate of the Billy Graham Institute of Emerging Evangelists and a graduate of  Southern Evangelical Seminary.

His new book is called “Hero-Unleashing God’s Power In A Man’s Heart” .
