Is the best kept secret of hell that fact it doesn’t exist?
the*
That Dante and Heracles were both able to get away?
Ray! You paper clip thief reprimanding peddler of tracts and other parlour tricks. You still haven’t answered me if you’re sent by God to speak his word or if you’re just a huckster making merchandise of a man-centered “how to get to heaven” gospel who mimics the manner of the prophets but is a stranger to the Spirit.
I charge you that we ought to preach the gospel unadultered by the machinations of religious enterprise. According to your doctrine, billions will perish in the lake of fire, and you’ve made a business out of it. You claim to care about the souls of men, but you peddle them a cheap, man-centered gospel, speaking to man’s circumstance, soliciting a sorrow in which there is no salvation, and presenting a dilemma of “heaven” and “hell” destinies. But we preach Christ crucified. You have said it is foolish and offensive, but we know it is the power of God unto salvation and that there is salvation in no other – no not in heaven or on earth. So why turn ye aside unto vain jangling, desiring to be a teacher of the law but using it unlawfully to turn men’s hearts toward a “heaven” that is nothing more than the imagination of their own heart?
Ye make Christ nothing more than a hoop for your proselytes to jump through at your command that they might attain the mansions and mammon of heaven that ye preach, denying the one who said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. Heaven and Earth will pass away but my word shall not pass away. They are they which testify of me, and ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning, and the ending. There was none before me, and there will be none after me. Besides me, there is no other.”
What I learn from Ray Comfort is that real Christians should have obnoxious manners. Am I missing something?
The Truth.
See what I mean!
Perchance Maz was addressing the topics question “Do You Know Hell’s Best Kept Secret?” instead of your “I’m I missing something?”, Fred[grin]. Just guessing.
John: I meant his was missing the Truth.
‘his’ should have been ‘he’.
Fred: What do you mean?
Comfort first creates an imaginary problem, which is that people are sinners who deserve to be tortured forever. Why? Because their parents had sex and sex is icky and always evil in Christianity. Nothing good can come from it so even an innocent child is evil in the eyes of Christianity. Then he offers an imaginary solution, that buying into a bunch of sectarian dogma from particular religion will make it all okay and your soul will fly off somewhere to magical wonderland of warmth and fuzziness.
Comfort is a liar and a fraud. We’ve all seen of or heard Ray Comfort’s man on the street conversions. The truth is though that all of these things are well-rehearsed set-ups and the “converts” are already Bible believing fundamentalists who just pretend to be unbelievers. Comfort is a typical poorly educated Christian blowhard who has authoritarianism issues. Like Mike and other fundies on this blog, Comfort feels intimidated by a world he cannot understand. So he uses the Bible to give his own words the authority that uneducated people who are already of low intelligence anyway never can get any other way.
Hell’s best-kept secret is that only Christians are foolish enough to believe in something so stupid. They must tell themselves the lie that everyone knows hell exists so they don’t have to face the idea that their God sends people to hell who don’t believe in it. See that would prove their God is evil and mindlessly cruel. So instead of realizing that a God like that couldn’t possibly exist they tell themselves a bunch of lies to justify their God’s existence and his bad behavior. That’s what is so damaging about this perverse belief system. One must lie to themselves in order to believe it.
TPWDE: It’s obvious you just don’t listen……or read other peoples posts….. because some of the things you keep bringing up have been answered. There is no real possible debate with a person like you that just wants to spurt off their own arrogant views despite what everyone else says.
Maz post 9,
Ohhh.
Sorry Fred, my bad.
TPWDE: It’s obvious you just don’t listen……or read other peoples posts….. because some of the things you keep bringing up have been answered. There is no real possible debate with a person like you that just wants to spurt off their own arrogant views despite what everyone else says.
Answer: Did you type that yourself? Or did you cut and paste it from one of the posts directed to you from one of your fellow Christians on the Evolution-Creation thread? How many people have told YOU the exact same thing on this blog? Don’t look now but you hypocrisy is showing. Again.
TPWDE: Hahahahahah!! Very funny! You DO have a sense of humour then!
Hypocrisy? You should win an oscar for that!
mherman: “because some of the things you keep bringing up have been answered. There is no real possible debate with a person like you that just wants to spurt off their own arrogant views despite what everyone else says.”
It’s not ” despite what everyone else says,” it’s despite reality. He is not on the same planet as most people.
Mike: I really, really, really feel sorry for this deluded soul!
I have been through Ray Comfort’s Way of the Master course and it is AWESOME! The videos are extremely well-produced and the teaching really makes you question the church’s approach to spreading the gospel!
Paul said, ”By ALL means save some.”
I do not believe there is any particular ”programme” or ”technique” that is unique in bringing people to Christ, it is the preaching of the gospel in the way the Holy Spirit will lead you with that particular person or persons at that particular time. Everyone is different and we all came a different way…..but ALWAYS through Christ and the cross.
Welcome Ashley.
Hell’s best kept secret is the power of the Holy Spirit, received subsequent to salvation. The Baptists and I don’t know how many others teach aganst it.
