The difference for us is that we're forgiven. How awesome is that!! We still have to try to do right just because we're grateful of the enormous sacrifice Jesus made. At least that's how I feel about it. I'm happy to see that God's love is unfailing even when we're at our weakest and most sinful state. Just take a look at what Moses said to God when the people decided they wanted a golden calf to bow before. Then see what God did. Yeah, He's aware that we're messed up! Jesus would have never had to die on the cross for us if there was anyone out there that was perfect. The difference for us is that we’re forgiven. How awesome is that!! Paul was gloriously human, and absolutely brilliant. All brilliance can seem like insanity at times. He did lose his temper sometimes in his letters...I find it endearing. We are still in this fleshly body and at times we are tempted by our adversary the devil....that's one of his jobs, to try and get us to sin.....but we can resist if we are not in a weakened state of mind or spirit, just as Jesus told the disciples when they slept instead of praying the last night before Jesus died, He said, ''The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.'' Ofcourse, we are this side of the cross and have a new nature and a new life within us, Christ, the Spirit of Life. I was reading Romans 8 this morning actually. But we are still in this world and in this body and to go through life sinless is a feat I don't think anyone has accomplished except Jesus Christ Himself.
