Can a Dying Church Be Saved?

Is there hope for forgotten, nearly-defunct inner city churches?  They call New England “The Graveyard of Preachers,” but Rev. Noel Williamson proves that even in the toughest of environments, a local church can grow and even thrive.  He left his comfort zone to become pastor of Pleasant Street Baptist Church www.pleasantstreetbaptist.org , a 100 year old Massachusetts church that had waned down to only four members.  Be inspired and get ideas for helping your own church, as you hear about a work of God in progress! Todays guest host is Alex McFarland www.alexmcfarland.com, President of Southern Evangelical Seminary www.ses.edu.

I think my favorite thing he said was that when/if the church “outgrew” its present location, instead of moving to the suburbs they would send out a group to find another abandoned or dying church across town and grow by planting another church. How nice to hear a humble, committed evangelist taking care of his community with no aspirations to become a mega church on the outskirts of town, too far away for most of the poor in the city to get to him. I was really blessed by this program. Good one, TTL!
